1. ORGANIZATION INFORMATION
INTRODUCTION
KYOKUSHINKAI (AN NGO duly registered in the status of a non-governmental & non-profiting Organization) was established in 1983 at Peshawar (Pakistan) and started its activities to save the children & youth from drug abuse and other social evils so as to provide them friendly environment in decision making and protecting their rights of participation. The organization is actively working in the fields of Health, Education, Environment, Battle against Social Evils, Peace Campaign as well as Inter-faith & Inter-cultural Harmony. Its emphasis is up on the fundamental human rights that includes provision of all basic life amenities to the community at their door step. It has also initiated its mission by establishing a Basic Health Unit in the name and title of “Rehmat Medical Center”, few primary schools for boys and girls in Bara (Khyber Agency) including a Community Center for Peace at Bara (Khyber Agency) comprising of the elders of the locality. The strategy of the organization is to provide essential needs to the community within the available resources by creating a sense of self help and ownership. It also aims to provide a secured environment for promoting peace & developing measures for upgrading the lifestyle and socio-economic status of the people at gross roots level.
The organization is working towards its noble cause without discrimination of caste, color, creed, sect and/or religion including gender. The crystal clear message is “Service to Humanity”.
Sports strategy is very important and effective to educate the people, to make them aware and to motivate them to adopt a healthy life style having the elements of tolerance and respect to each other. The first branch created for fitness & self-defense (karate) sports activities for youth and children to provide those healthy activities and to save them from drugs and other social evils was started in Government Technical Training Center, Gulbahar, Peshawar and started sports activities three hours daily in evening. Still the program is being carried out with a view to save the youth & children from drugs, social evils and to persuade them towards peace and to eliminate extremism and terrorism that has ruined the socio-economic scenario of our society at national level. Now Kyokushinkai has the credit of having about 200 branches (sub-offices) in all the 4 provinces, Fata and Azad Kashmir and having more than 1000 active members majority of whom are youth and children both males and females.
The social activities of the organization are in accordance with the Charter of United Nations Human Rights, CIDA, CEDAW, IANSA, WHO, UNICEF, US-AID, UNDP and other protocols of international organizations working for the noble cause.

VISION
The main emphasis is on awareness/motivation on fundamental human rights without any discrimination of caste, color, creed, sect and/or religion including gender. It is effectively striving in the fields of Health, Education, Environment, Battle against Social Evils, Peace Campaign as well as Inter-religious & Inter-cultural Harmony. On the other hand, KKK also keen to provide training/job opportunities to youth by way of implementing vocational training programs, also in Computer Literacy & IT that is the call of the time. It will result in creating job opportunities and enable the people in earning their livelihood with a confidence resulting in better socio-economic condition at large and will alleviate poverty.
Kyokushinkai is supposed to make aware the people generally and especially youth/children for adopting a civilized socio-economic system for creating a sense of tolerance & respect to each other for carving a peace loving society. It also aims to keep youth/children away from drugs/narcotics & social evils by diverting their attention towards healthy sports culture that will result in anti-terrorism campaign effectively. It is committed to the fact that youth/Children are future of any nation so need special emphasis for molding their minds and habits.
MISSION
KyokushinKai is striving to provide health facilities to those who are deprived of such facilities including of educational facilities/opportunities to the devastated and down trodden children in the operational areas of the organization. Also to promote sports culture in order to reduce alienation emerging in the society.
Regarding the activities of the organization, KyokushinKai has been publishing a monthly “Blood Sports” magazine for youth and children as well as a weekly “Tarjuman-e-Qabail” magazine for the people of Tribal Areas (FATA). Kyokushinkai trying to create awareness among the community through these magazines with a view to encourage the youth and children to take part in healthy socio module system and the people in general.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
1. To create awareness among the people especially youth and children against drug/social evils through sports and other physical fitness as well as to strengthen the society in order to combat and handle every problem with self confidence.
2. To extend these facilities to every town, village and city in Pakistan, especially in FATA (Tribal areas).
3. To enroll new members and provide them coaching facilities as well as sports equipments.
4. To provide the facilities of a psychiatrist and other social experts to visit all our centers in Pakistan.
5. To promote sports culture in order to reduce alienation emerging in the society
6. To keep liaison with different organization/donor organization for strengthening the linkage development and effective coordination.
7. To work for the better health of community.
8. To promote and motivate the community towards peace & social harmony.
9. To organize focal group discussions and relevant programs up on Inter-Faith & Inter-Cultural Harmony among various forms of socio-religious elders so as to create the awareness about tolerance and creation of sense of mutual respect and co-existence.
10. To upgrade the socio- economic condition of the members by providing skill development initiatives.

3. Creating awareness through organizing Walks/Seminars/Workshops regarding crucial issues like Walks/Seminars on Polio Day, TB Day HIV/AIDS, Drugs, Women and Child Rights, Inter-faith/inter-cultural harmony as well as celebration of World Annual Days viz:

5. REGULAR PROGRAM AND ACTIVITIES

KyokushinKai has been providing health facilities to those who are deprived in the operational area of the organization and providing education facilities to the divested and down trodden children in the operational areas of the organization as well. Also promote sports culture in order to reduce alienation emerging in the society.
KyokushinKai is supposed to make aware the people especially youth and children against drug through sports and other activities as well as strengthens the society in order to combat and handle every problem.
In order to create awareness and attraction, we have arranged several programs like belt promotion tests, tournaments and referee judges courses, seminars. Besides these activities, we have also organized walk against Drug abuse, pollutions and Pakistan & Peace day walks. We have published these activities along with pictures of our member’s achievements in different local and national Urdu and English newspapers, due to which the children and young boys took interest in our healthy activities and joined KyokushinKai international membership from different parts of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and FATA (Tribal).

KyokushinKai Health Program has been instrumental in providing access to the devastated and down trodden communities of the project areas to the preventive and curative medical care.
KyokushinKai extends its potential through "Rehmat Medical Center" which has been established in 2004 at Waris Abad Haji Camp GT. Road Peshawar and the other medical center is located at Nowshera. Recently a new branch established in Bara Khyber Agency (Tribal Area). The staff comprises of one doctor, one LHV, laboratory assistant, receptionist and peon. About 15-20 average patients are served with urine, blood, stool and phlegm tests facilities in the laboratory of these medical centers along with diagnostic and remedial services.
Keeping in view the national situation of disaster in shape of Earth Quake of October 8, 2005, that affected the major parts of Azad Kashmir and northern districts of, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa Rehmat Medical Center organized set up for 3 days relief camp for relief and rehabilitation of affected people. Kyokushinkai collected 2 trucks load of relief stuff that was transported to those areas.

9. RELIEF CAMP FOR THE VICTIMS OF EARTHQUAKE (MANSEHRA, BALAKOT & ABBOTTABAD)
08th October 2005 was a great challenge to National interests in term of heavy destruction and loss of precious human lives in Balakot, Mansehra & Abbottabad regions spreading up to Shinkiari. Kyokushinkai organized Relief Camp for the victims of this natural disaster at Peshawar and sent 3 truck load relief material comprising of food stuff, clothes, warm clothes and other essential life commodities. The team of Kyokushinkai rushed to the scenario and also took an active part towards provision of relief activities and rehabilitation of homeless victims. CMU (Crisis Management Unit) of Kyokushinkai comprises of young and enthusiastic workers who always proved their worth in any adverse situation like flood, earthquake or any other natural disaster.
10. RELIEF ACTIVITIES REFERENCE TO SEVERE FLOOD THROUGHOUT KHYBER . PAKHTUNKHWA .
The recent furious flood has resulted a considerable lives & material loss to the community throughout the province due to which the province has been depreciated more than 50 years back. A number of people lost their lives, became homeless and also deprived of their cattle and house-hold. The infrastructure of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been totally demolished in shape of roads, bridges, schools and valuable national and private institutions. Kyokushinkai promptly accepted the challenge and organized Relief Camps in which the Crisis Management Unit (CMU) of KKK members worked enthusiastically and collected donations which were delivered among the deserving perturbed masses.
In this connection KKK organized Charity Karate Tournament for Flood Victims with the help of Pakhtunkhwa Sports Board at Qayum Stadium, Peshawar Cantt. A number of elites, youth and students participated in the event. Director, Social Welfare & Women Development, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa extended Rs.10,000/- grant in this context.
11. NARCOTICS/DRUGS
Narcotics/Drugs pose a serious hazard to health that has recently assumed grave proportion is drug addiction among the youth. Drug – induced crimes; the problem of the addict who become a social liability, the release of enormous sums of money out of the profits of the heinous traffic for anti-social purposes; the concentration of purchasing power of this wealth in criminal hands. Together, they become the common problem of our society in streets and homes. KyokushinKai aims to eliminate this problem at grass-roots level.
During the year 2007, Kyokushinkai organized a Kyokushin Karate Tournament at Bilour Plaza in collaboration with ANF (Anti Narcotics Force) with a view to create awareness on this important social issue. The message conveyed was to get rid of Narcotics and to adopt a modest and healthy lifestyle for the youth. The youth are the futures of the nation thus need to be kept away from such evils.

Every year, KyokushinKai has been organizing walks on the following themes:
1. Different Newspapers have published the activities carried out by KyokushinKai, such as Polio Walk Organized by experts of the organization.

KyokushinKai has organized Seminar on HIV/AIDS awareness program on 6th December 2004 at Ring Road, Peshawar In which District Social Welfare Officer, Nazism and Social Workers discussed about preventive/curative measures and causes of HIV/AIDS in detail. Participants of the seminar were more than 80.

KyokushinKai is working for the protection of Women and Child rights including all basic rights like food, shelter, clothing, technical and vocational education, skills and etc. KyokushinKai has contributed in protection of Women and Child Right as much as possible within the limited resources. Activities undertaken for the protection of women and child rights program:
i. Celebration of Children Day on 20th November
ii. Organizing Seminars/ Walks on Child Labor
iii. Walks on violation/ discrimination against Child Rights
iv. Provision of books and clothes to poor students
v. Celebration of Women’s Annual Day in which initiative was taken by the organization i.e. Special Motivation campaign on female Education.
vi. Celebration of Mother’s Day on 12th Feb. in which 25 women were facilitated through clothes and grant by the organization.
vii. Participated in Seminar on Hudood Ordinance in which it was requested that the Ordinance does not cover Women Rights completely therefore, amendments should be made for the protection of Women Rights.
14. KYOKUSHINKAI FOCUS AREA
KyokushinKai focus area is FATA (Tribal Area) as well as Pakistan and Afghanistan. The female education ratio is zero and the male education ratio is about 15% in FATA. Most of the tribal areas comprise of High Mountain having no roads, electricity, health, education and other basic facilities. There is very miserable condition of women, who have no rights and work as Labor through day/night instead of male. They have no education and no technical skill. They are living to serve the men and to give birth to babies. Majority of the pregnant mothers die in the way to climb (over many mountains by riding the horses, donkeys to reach to the hospital miles away from their homes. The women start their activities to make breakfast, to go into the farms, to cut the wood from jungle, to make lunch and dinner and to bring water from spring and rivers. The males are the lords in their traditions and female have no value in their home decisions. They are meant only to work from dawn to dusk.

15. INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT GRANTED BY FATA CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM SPONSORED BY US-AID (WORTH $ 9,303.23) IN KIND .
Kyokushinkai has been able to avail of an opportunity in shape of institutional support from FATA Capacity Building Program sponsored by US-AID worth $ 9,303.23 in kind. Now the organization is capable of organizing and implementing its intended future work plan more effectively. The process is in progress that will be reflected in our incoming Progress Report expected at end of June 2009.

· To educate them about the modern methods of farming.
· Create awareness about environment related issues and to convince them not to cut forest .for fuel purpose
· Provide healthy activities to the youths and children and to divert them towards sports culture .so that they are kept away from social evils, drugs etc.
· Protect youths and children from narcotics and other social evils and give them awareness. .
